I’ve been fascinated with photography ever since I was just seven years old.
I was always the kid who borrowed someone’s phone or camera to take pictures everywhere I went – family gatherings, vacations, even just everyday moments.
I loved capturing the world around me and preserving memories.
As I got older photography drew me in even more and I began learning and looking up techniques.
I learned how lighting can drastically change images, even simple changes in light could make flat images look good.
I learned how to make photos tell stories.
I studied, watched videos and practiced to get better.
Receiving my very own camera – a Canon – as a Christmas gift from my mom in 2022 was a dream come true.
It was one of my goals to have a professional camera before starting high school, and I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment when I unwrapped it.
Photography has been a game-changer for me. It’s helped me come out of my shell, build confidence, and see new opportunities. I’ve started taking photos for family events, friends’ portraits, and even local clients.
As a young Black entrepreneur, I’m proud to be starting my business at a young age. I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions, just like I have.
According to statistics published by Zippia, a career demographics expert, African Americans make up about 6.3% of the professional photographer population in the United States.
Through photography, I’ve discovered a new way to express myself, connect with others, and showcase my creativity. I love the feeling of being behind the lens, capturing moments, and telling stories through images.
I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and how I can use my talents to make a positive impact in my community.
